waxing

• Hair should be at least 1/4" long (4 weeks since last wax or 3 weeks since last shave). Hair that’s too short may cause breakage, leaving you with unwanted stubble.
• Take a warm shower and gently exfoliate the skin prior to waxing. This will provide an easier removal of the hair follicles, ensuring smoother results.
• Take a Tylenol 30-45 minutes prior to waxing to help minimize any discomfort.
• Avoid caffeine and alcohol immediately before waxing. Stimulants in the system may cause the skin to be extra sensitive.
• Avoid heat related activities like hot yoga, steam rooms and tanning immediately before waxing. Excessive heat may cause the skin to lift.
• Do not wax if you are on any skin sensitive medications that may cause the skin to lift (ie. Accutane or Retin-A).
• Keep in mind, if it’s your first time waxing, if you’re pregnant, or if you’re on your menstrual cycle, your skin may be more sensitive than usual.

• Some redness after waxing is normal and fades within 24–48 hours. First-timers or those with coarse hair may have more irritation.
• Wear loose, comfy clothes that won’t rub or irritate your skin.
• Keep waxed pores clean for 24 hours. Sweat or bacteria can cause reactions. Avoid heat (hot yoga, steam rooms, tanning), heavy sweating, pools, and foot soaks.
• Don’t shave or trim. Waxing regularly weakens hair follicles and slows regrowth, making hair softer and finer.
• Stick to waxing every 5–6 weeks. Hair grows in cycles, so waiting helps remove more hair and keeps skin smoother longer.

waxing faq
Waxing, unlike shaving, removes hair directly from the root, leaving the skin smooth for weeks. Regular, consistent waxing will weaken the hair follicles, resulting in slower regrowth that is often softer and more fine.
There can be a level of discomfort during a wax, especially if it’s your first time. But don’t fear, we do everything in our power to make your experience more comfortable, including a pre wax numbing serum, super sensitive waxes, and highly skilled estheticians.
For best results, hair should be at least 1/4" long (3 weeks since last wax or 4 weeks since last shave). Hair that’s too short may cause breakage, leaving you with unwanted stubble.
We recommend waxing every 5-6 weeks. Hair grows in different cycles, so it’s best to allow enough time for the hair to fully grow out before waxing again. This will ultimately lead to smoother results, for longer.
We don’t recommend trimming before a wax. Trimming may result in the hair being too short. It also encourages more hair growth, the opposite of what we want!
The recommended time to wax before any big event (ie. wedding, anniversary, vacation) is 2-3 days. This will allow any redness or irritation to pass.
However, if this is your first time waxing, we strongly recommend completing at least 1 full waxing cycle to assess skin sensitivity, hair type and possible skin reactions. We would hate to see you head to your big day with irritated skin.
We don’t recommend waxing on skin that has been exposed to heat and/or sun for at least 24 hours. We don’t want to add any irritation to already irritated skin (especially sunburnt skin!).
It’s best to avoid friction and/or excessive sweat immediately after waxing as it may cause irritation and adverse reactions to your freshly waxed pores.
Yes, it’s totally fine to wax during your period. We just ask that you put a fresh tampon in before you arrive. We have fresh wipes and tampons available. When you’re comfortable, we are too.
To ensure uniform pricing, we base our charges on service area rather than the thickness of hair or body size.
Yes! However, it’s always best to consult your doctor before you book.
You should never wax if you are on acne medication such as Accutane or any other skin thinning or blood thinning medications. Waxing while on these medications can cause the skin to lift. Steer clear of waxing any area with varicose veins, sunburn, an STI or contagious skin infection. If you have undergone cosmetic treatments such as chemical peels, you may have to wait up to 6 months before it is safe to wax.
If you are under 16, we will require you to be accompanied by a parent or guardian to your first appointment to fill out a New Client Form.
At this time, we do not offer Manzilian waxing services.
